Your donation supports the smaller dog charities that need helping the most…
…we make sure of that
Donate now and help dog charities that can’t help themselves.
It’s a simple formula that works
If you donate to The Animal Rescue Foundation you are supporting those dog charities throughout the UK where rescue centres, shelters and re-housing projects for helpless dogs big and small need help the most. All too often these smaller dog charities don’t have the resources or the funds to generate the support and help they desperately need to care for the animals which have been abandoned or subjected to unimaginable cruelty.
The Animal Rescue Foundation helps those smaller charities that just simply can’t manage on their own… but continue to shelter and care for dogss of all sizes.
The money donated to the Foundation is used by all these smaller charities to help in such areas as fund-raising, administration and capital projects and allows them to concentrate on the most important aspect – looking after their animals.
Only those charities with a declared ethical policy regarding dog care and re-homing will be supported by the Foundation.
From the start, the Foundation has refrained from rescuing and adopting stray animals that would need their own buildings and facilities, when there are sufficient charities and shelters already doing this across the UK. Our focus is to help those charities on the front line by making grants available or who may have some funds in place but need more to complete a specific project over a phased period.
What we do
The Foundation itself aims to spend as little as possible on its own administration, with ‘internal’ costs being spent on such activities as mail shots, travel to visit existing and potential charity clients and building relationships with schools.
Over the years the Animal Rescue Foundation has raised some £600,000 – enabling about £70,000 a year to be devoted as vital funds for our smaller animal charity clients – saving the lives of many animals under threat.
