My Dear Supporters,
Thank you for a fantastic response to our Emergency COVID Appeal. With your generous donations and a magnificent bequest, we have raised over £100,000 for this appeal and we have been able to grant well over £100,000 to 31 charities during this crisis. Your response has been terrific and many, many animals are now benefiting from your generosity.
As I’ve mentioned before, we do not have any employees, cars, or unnecessary expenses. We rely on donations and bequests to build a better world for animals and those who dedicate their lives to them. We are not connected to any other charity.
We do keep a capital reserve for all eventualities, it is only prudent to do so, but even our reserves have taken a battering with this invidious virus, and the short and long term effects it will have on the smaller charities we support.
We only mail 4 times a year to our supporters, mailings cost a lot of money, but until we can install a sensible GDPR compliant e-mail newsletter, it is the only way we have to tell you of our successes.
Should you wish a list of all the charities we have helped this year please send an SAE and we will respond.
We now move on to the next part -the re-homing of all the ‘lockdown’ animals, from the status dogs or the puppies bought from fake breeders to the neglected and starving horses and ponies, all left unwanted as the money dries up and jobs become scarce.
This puts a terrible strain on all our animal charities. It was bad enough before COVID, now it’s going to get far worse. Remember most charities had to close their charity shops and cancel all their summer money-raising events. This is going to take a long time to sort out.
I have another growing list of charities crying out for help.
Help them we must. You can’t furlough an animal.

Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,

Paul Houlden, Founder.
